Colors and appearance

Builder palette and separation between interface and document styles.

1.0.0-beta.6 · Local build · desktop

Four palette colors

Choose the editor background, text, icon and accent colors in the builder. Valid HEX values are applied immediately without recreating the editor or losing the document history. The generated script/ESM includes scoped application CSS. It does not rewrite the exported document.

Day and night

The website theme covers its shell, playground, examples and builder UI. Unmodified builder colors follow the site theme; explicitly selected palette colors remain your choices. Theme and language preferences are local to the browser.

Document CSS

getCSS/setCSS control the separate document stylesheet. Only the supported selectors/properties are accepted. Document styles run in Shadow DOM, keeping them separate from your application and the editor controls. When publishing HTML+CSS, your application provides its own isolation.

Stability

The builder palette is scoped generated CSS, not a stable public theme object API. Preserve the entire distribution when upgrading and verify both interface contrast and user document appearance. HTML/CSS.

const paletteStyle = document.createElement('style');
paletteStyle.textContent = '#editor > .vitext { --vt-paper: #fffdf8; --vt-ink: #1e1c18; --vt-accent: #2c3bd6; }';
document.head.append(paletteStyle);
editor.destroy();
paletteStyle.remove();
